The following diagnostic tests have been created by our Learning Team and are fully mapped to the current ECDL syllabus. They will work on all Hillingdon Libraries PCs. In order to use these tests on your home PC you will need to click on the following link Question Tools Exam software (1 MB ) and install this small bit of software.
To use the Electronic Diagnostic Tests:
- Click on the link for the required diagnostic test
- when prompted, click on the 'Run' button.
This will download the file to a temporary location on your PC. - when the download is complete, click on the 'Open' button.
This will place the file on your Desktop.

For electronic sample tests for modules 5 & 6 we can currently only offer you one from Enlight Teststation, our supplier for the online tests we use. For access to these we charge £5.00 and these can only be done once. Please purchase these in the normal way and fill in the online form to request access to these.
To use the Paper based sample tests:
- Click on the link for the required paper-based sample test
- when prompted, click on the 'Run' button.
This will download the file to a temporary location on your PC. - when the download is complete, click on the 'Open' button.
This will place the file on your Desktop.
Please note that these samples are intended purely for your own practice, and we are unable to mark them for you. Should you have difficulties with a particular task, please make a note of it and we can discuss it with you during one of our support sessions.

Paper-based samples are also available free of charge from the British Computer Society website (please note that these are half the length of a real paper).
