If you have completed your ECDL and want to progress your skills, or if you are already a 'power user' - ECDL Advanced is the qualification for you.
ECDL Advanced will allow you to demonstrate your higher level computer skills. You will be able to show employers that you are confident, competent and efficient in a range of applications.
ECDL Advanced is available for the following applications :
You can take any of the modules individually to receive an ECDL Advanced certificate in that application or, if you complete all of the modules, you will receive an additional ECDL Expert certificate showing that you are truly expert in using computers, and you will also be eligible to become an Associate member of the British Computer Society and be able to put the letters AMBCS after your name.
All Hillingdon Libraries currently sell the Advanced ECDL e-learning courses for both AM3 Word Processing and AM4 Spreadsheets for Office 2000. Each ECDL Advanced e-learning course costs only £35.
Hillingdon Libraries are also an ECDL Advanced Approved Test Centre and we offer ECDL Advanced exam packs containing:
- Registration with the British Computer Society and one exam (using Office 2000 or 2003 upon request);
- A USB pen drive with a multitude of exercises and self-assessment exercises;
- A library book covering the relevant syllabus and exercises (on long-loan, to be returned when you sit your exam);
- A sample paper;
- Support sessions that you can join should you need any extra help.
Each exam pack costs £70 (please note that currently, we are able to offer testing in AM3 and AM6 only. We hope to be able to offer testing AM4 and AM5 in due course). For AM4 and AM5 you can purchase a pack without the exam for £20, either on USB pen drive if you've not already purchased one through us, or on CD-ROM.
Testing only (which only includes registration with the British Computer Society and one exam) is also available for £50 per exam for AM3 and AM6 only.
Should you fail your exam, retakes are charged at £15 each.

Please note that from 1st January 2008 we will be testing using v1.5 for AM3 and v1.0 for AM6.
