Cats

Cats can be good,
Cats can be bad,
Cats can make you seriously mad!

Cats like to eat,
Birds that tweet,
Lots of food like fish and meat!

Cats can be grey,
Cats can be white,
Always black in the middle of the night!

Cats think it's good
To catch some mice,
But when it's in your house,
It's not very nice!

Reality Check

A novel by Sophie H

Chapter One: Normality Check

You know how it is, Monday morning, don't wanna get out of bed. Nerdy geeks that are hypnotised by their Gameboys, and kool kids that can't get over themselves. You just can't be bothered to go to school. Well that's just how I felt. My name's Alicia Montgomery. I live in West Drayton and go to Uxbridge High School . And as I said, I hate school. The only good things are Maths, mates and English with Buff Boys. That is so cool!

Anyway, it was on Monday, worst day of the week, the dreaded day after the weekend where you just feel gutted that it wasn't as good as you hoped it would be. But I was trying to burn that curse because today I had English and Maths, the best lessons in the world!

So I got up by almost killing the annoying alarm that woke me up in the morning. And then I got dressed, put my makeup on and sorted myself out to impress some of the Buff Boys in English. I was all set to go to school, so I shouted to my Mum ‘Seeya' and left to collect Michelle. But there was my first BIG mistake. They have a dog that jumps. (Do you get where this is heading..?) To cut a long story short, I had to run home and change my trousers as they had a huge rip in the middle from the dog's claws where he was so happy to see me! So we were finally ready to leave the house to get the bus and I met Lila, as I usually do on the U3, heard all the latest goss and news (like Naomi hitting her maid over the head with a telephone and leaving blood everywhere and the maid blind!)

Then we arrived at school, where it was the centre of madness, so me and Lila split up from the gang and went to the field to play basketball with the lads. We win every time! As the bell for rang, we collected our stuff and headed to the Year 7 assembly. I just managed to put a foot over the entrance of the hall doors when someone grabbed my arm, covered my eyes and took me round the corner. I opened my eyes and it was Nick Taylor, one of the hottest boys in the whole of Year 7! But everyone knew he had the hots for just me! So, just for today, I decided to skip assembly. So a quick mention to Lila to tell her where I was going and what to tell Miss if she wanted to know where I was (which was a total lie!) But all Lila says is ‘reality check' and I hate it! Nick and I went all round ICT as that's where the Year 7 form rooms are and as they were in assembly we wouldn't get caught. I thought the whole assembly, ICT trick thing was totally awesome, but I couldn't stop hearing those words ‘reality check'…

You'll have to wait for the next Cookie Club newsletter for the next chapter!!
