ICT Helpsheets

Hillingdon Libraries Learning Team have written a series of helpsheets to help you get the most out of the library PCs, and in starting to learn how to use a PC in general.

The helpsheets are divided into four categories:

• Getting Started: find out how to book the library PCs, and which software is available on them.

• Beginners: start using computers by learning how to use the mouse and Windows, basic word processing, Internet and email.

• Intermediate: scanning images and editable text (OCR), basic image manipulation, digital photography, CD-burning, Google Earth, file compression, screen capture, and the basic concepts of building a website.

All helpsheets are in Adobe PDF format, and you will need to have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC in order to be able to view these files.

All helpsheets marked with the smiley symbol are intended to be used as reference only - do not try to memorise them!
