Safari e-Books
What is Safari?
Safari is our new web-based e-Book service giving you access to 420 of the latest ICT and management titles. You can search electronic versions of IT as well as management books published by the O'Reilly and Pearson groups. These will appeal to the IT novice as well as the IT professional. Hillingdon is only the 2nd public library in the U.K. to offer this service.
Why use Safari?
Get solutions to technical issues in seconds at your PC, in the library, at home or at work - any time, anywhere you have web-based access to current titles.
You can read the books cover to cover, search through the whole collection by keywords or phrases or just browse as you would a book.
Every page from every book in our collection is available in full text, including diagrams and coding and pasted into your applications.
Areas covered in our collection also include Business & Management titles (e-Business, Customer service,10 minute guides to ... Stress management, Time management, Effective Business writing, presentation techniques etc) and Computer titles ( Word 2002, Certification, Java, databases, MP3,Windows 2003 server, Customer relationship management,.NET, C#, Photoshop 7, Flash 4, Firewalls, XML, Red Hat Linux, 10 minute guides to... Accessing Safari's e-Book Collection from Hillingdon Libraries
If you are working on a PC in one of Hillingdon's 17 libraries you can access Safari from the icon located on Tab 2: e-information of the Launcher Pad.
Access Safari from Home (remotely)
If you are accessing Safari e-Books from home, work or any computer in the world (i.e. remotely) you need to login into our Library Catalogue and e-Services portal before you can search. You will need to type in 20112 followed by your membership number and PIN .
