Plug-ins
As you browse the World Wide Web you might come across websites that require extra bits of software so that you can do things such as view animations, play games or listen to audio. These pieces of software are called 'plug-ins'. Plug-ins are made by many different companies and you will need to download them from their website.
We have compiled a list of the most commonly used plug-ins, which are all FREE to download and use. You will never have to give any payment details such as your credit card number. You will be asked to agree to some terms and conditions with the relevant company, which should also inform you of what they will do with your personal information.
We suggest for you to deselect any utilities that are optional, like the Google Toolbar, MSN Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, Weather Bug, and so on, as they will only increase the download time and very often will make a nuisance of themselves.
Some companies may offer you other products, including products that are paid for. Hillingdon Libraries do not endorse any products or plug-ins made by other companies and is not liable for their download or use.
