The BBC and the Learning Skills Council have produced a range of FREE resources to help you improve your ICT, financial literacy and essential word and number skills:

The Webwise course is a beginner's introduction to using, searching and staying safe on the web. It is divided into 10 lessons, each lasting about 1 hour.

BBC Reading and Writing
All Hillingdon Libraries are RaW Associate Centres. Ask a member of library staff for the RaW folder which contains information, quizzes and games, and pick up a free RAW magazine.
Get more out of reading and writing, call 0800 150 950 FREE! You could get a free RaW magazine featuring articles, quizzes and a £1 voucher towards a Quick Reads book, or ask about phone coaching to get confidential, one to one advice for free (from land lines).
Visit the RaW website and have a go at their interactive games or try your hand at some of their challenging quizzes to get a RaW EastEnders DVD. You can also test yourself and take a journey of discovery with a little help from the BBC's friends.
Do you need a qualification in English or Maths to plug a gap in your CV? If so, move on with the National Test. Passing this National Test will enable you to gain a qualification in English, the National Certificate in Adult Literacy, or Maths, the National Certificate in Adult Numeracy.
Visit the Move-On website for materials and resource, including the Learner Route, which is designed to help you prepare for the literacy and numeracy Level 1 and Level 2 tests, and help finding a Test Centre
Ask a member of library staff for the Learning CD, and get ready with the National Test Toolkit which contains practice questions to show you how the tests work, a mini test to suggest which level you should try first and many practice tests at both level 1 and 2.
